I Kissed Dating Goodbye

I Kissed Dating Goodbye: A New Attitude Toward Relationships and RomanceI Kissed Dating Goodbye: A New Attitude Toward Relationships and Romance by Joshua Harris

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

i read this book because i have had it on my shelf for years was sending some books to a resale and decided to read it first.. i think the book is awesome for teens..
Josh's point is not that we should give up dating, but re-examine how you go about finding a spouse in light of our relationship with Jesus Christ. When we do that, many will realize that today's dating is not a Christ-like way of finding someone he intends for us. He raises topics such as the defects of dating, how we should view the opposite sex.

The same goes for dating for enjoyment and having a successful dating life, which are selfish ambitions. Josh's key point is that love is not about what we get but what we give (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) and how we can best honor the other person. True friendship will yield the knowledge of the opposite sex we need and courtship and marriage are simply the end results of Godly-directed friendship with the right person.
This young man, could help many young people today, in alot of dating issues if we could get this book in the hands of teens across the country.. many may think he is old fashioned, but seriously we live in a world that teaches all young people sex is love.. sex is just that, its only an emotion. and a marriage should not be solely based upon up..

Hawaiin Crosswinds

Hawaiian CrosswindsHawaiian Crosswinds by Linda Lee Chaikin

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Hawaiian people in 1892 were split on what was best for Hawaii.  Most of the plantation owners were for Annexation to the United States, but others were against it. And as often happens during a conflict, families and friends are divided. Now Rafe and his fiance Eden must try to reconcile their differences concerning Annexation.
But Rafe has other things to worry about at the same time. For one thing, he is trying to protect his mother and her adopted son from his stepfather who is suspected of murdering Rafe's father. The man is now on the run, and Rafe must track him down before anyone else gets hurt.

This was a good book from start to finish. I would recommend it to friends. I truly couldn't put this book down, it caught my attention right off. It was thought provoking and very well written, filled with romance and excitement.
It was an amazing story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Moody Press in exchange for my honest review.
